Tonight is the culmination of Finals Week at the Ambassador. Come and see Paul Foster, World Indoor Bowling Champion,  in singles action. Entry free and starts at 6:30.

The first children’s coaching session of the season went ahead today, in between the showers! Sessions are held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm every Wednesday afternoon.  So if you have grandchildren,  why not bring them along? £1.00 for non members,  or join as a Junior Member for £5, and get coaching FREE!  Why not ask about our Family Membership – one parent of a Junior Member only costs £25, or £35 for both.  Terms and conditions apply.

Children only coaching starts at the Howie this Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Bring your grandchildren to join in the fun!  Only £1 for non members.

Not long now until the start of the outdoor season.  Green is looking great,, so fingers crossed that Saturday’s weather is good. Action starts at 2:00 pm. See you there!!!

There will be a short SGM for full members of the  Howie Bowling Club, at 10:20 am at the Ambassador tomorrow, immediately before the Open Whappenshaw. The meeting should last no longer than 10 minutes. Then, let the games begin!

Turn up at the Ambassador at 10:30 on Saturday for an eleven o’clock start. Lunch optional around 12:30.

Our opening day of the season will be Saturday 8th April, with the fun starting at 2:00 pm. Members can pay their fees on Tuesday or Wednesday (4th / 5th April, between 2:00 – 4:00 pm. This is a good time for prospective members to come along and have a look around, and learn about all the exciting plans we have for the season!

Remember that the final Howie Open Wappenshaw of the indoor season will be held at the Ambassador on Saturday 18th March.  Turn up at 10:30ish for an 11:00 start. Game lasts 90 minutes followed by lunch (optional). Non members and beginners/novices welcome!

Remember that the Open Whappenshaw is next Saturday,  and as the title suggests it is open to all, non members, juniors,  visually impaired,  and of course Howie members!  Put your name down on the list at the Ambassador,  or turn up on the day, 10:30ish for 11:00 start.

At Wednesday’s AGM,  full membership fees for 2017 was agreed at £95, Junior membership unchanged at £5, and a new category of family membership created. Parents of junior members can now join for £25 (single parent) or £35 (both). Restrictions apply.

The coaching classes at the Ambassador Indoor Bowling Club run by Howie Bowling Club will recommence after the holiday break on week beginning the 9th January.  Have a great time at New Year, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday morning at 9:30, Tuesday evening at 6:30, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (visually impaired) or Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (children’s beginners).

The next Howie Open Whappenshaw will be held at the Ambassador Indoor Bowling Club on Saturday the 14th January.  Action starts at 11:00 am, so be there by 10:40 at the latest to get into the draw!
