Finals Results
Congratulations to Brian Rowan our new Club Champion beating Bill Alexander 21-20 in a thrilling game. Also congratulations to Luke Jones who beat Nicholas in a high quality match 21-11 to win the Junior Championship. And well done, Billy Herd, who beat Tom Brown 22-12 in the Senior Singles.
Finals Weekend
The schedule for Saturday’s Final Day was announced this evening. The Club Championship will be played between Brian Rowan and Bill Alexander. The Junior Championship will feature Luke and Nicholas. This will be the first Junior Championship for many years and is eagerly awaited. The third match sees Billy Herd go head to head with Tom Brown in the Senior Singles. All matches start at two o’clock.
Gents Fours
The Gents Fours has been rescheduled for TODAY. Be at the club for 6:00 pm for the draw.
Gents Monday Evening League
Congratulations to Vic Crockford, winner of the Gents Monday Evening League Shield. A first for Vic, and well deserved success over a long format.
Closure of Green
The green will be closed tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) between 12:00 and 5:00 pm for essential maintenance. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
John Prentice
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Honorary President, John Prentice, who died this morning. A great man who will be sorely missed at the club.
Next Bowling Competition
Our next competition is on Wednesday 23rd August, the Ross Rose Bowl, held over from earlier in the season. This replaces our normal twice monthly Open Whappenshaw. Teams will be drawn on the evening of the event. Be there for 6:15 pm.
Millennium Cup
The Millennium Cup was won by Brian Rowan and Betty Collins. Congratulations to them!
Saturday Competition
The Saturday competition tomorrow is the Millennium Cup. Teams will be drawn on the day, so open to all members, including Family and Juniors. Be there for 9:45, for a ten o’clock start.
Prestwick Prom
Howie have a stall at the Prestwick Prom tomorrow. Visit the stall and support the club by buying cakes or having a go at the “Ball in the Bucket” game. The fun starts around 11:30.
Finals Weekend – New Dates
To avoid a clash with the popular Air Show, Finals Weekend will now be held on Saturday 9th September and Sunday 10th September.
